This injection reduces discomfort in the neck, shoulders, and hands caused by a pinched nerve (or nerves) within the cervical spine. Conditions, for example, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, or radiculopathy can compress nerves, causing inflammation and pain. The medication injected helps decrease some of the swelling of nerves.
